I especially enjoyed the Edelman quote about money and power...it won't help you sleep at night. Working with young children and families is exhausting, but very worthwhile work. I agree you can end the day with the satisfaction of making a difference.
ReplyDeleteI really like Louise Derman-Sparks in our videos. She is very compassionate and it shows in her speaking about Early Childhood. I just read the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families and there is a story about a little girl that always ran out of the front door when she was sad and her mother always went after her. One time the mom was busy and she didn't run after the little girl. When the little girl came back in she said, "Mama always run after me". That just melts my heart. Reviewing these quotes and fields of study make me think about how children really do caring adults to run after them.
